Drove to Philly for dinner last weekend, and whIle sitting outside the husband and I spotted what appeared to be a brand spanking new white 2016 MX-5. Unfortunately, neither of us had our phone out to take a pic. :(
They aren’t for sale yet...so, press car? Anyone seen it?

They are for sale now; it’s just that the Mazda website still lists it as a future car. Most dealers have at least one in stock.

Ah ha! Mystery solved. I drive by a Mazda dealer on the way to work. I might have to pop in tomorrow and have a look.

He needed a reliable car for work and it had a ton of issues. The check engine light came on the day after he bought it and we just threw money and time at it fixing everything. As soon as it would be solved, something else would break. It was nice having a convertible in Hawaii, though.
Good news is that he had a 2005 Focus when we met, then I convinced him to buy the Miata, he learned a shit ton about cars (from 0 to timing belt in 2 months!), and now he wrenches with me. :)

Good luck. Check your dealer’s website beforehand just to make sure you aren’t going to waste your time for a car that’s not there.

Yep! I’ll never get rid of her. We got a FiST back in January, but I can’t seem to convince him to let me do anything to it. He wants a warrantied, reliable car. I wants faster.

Awesome! When the warranty is gone all bets are off! How long before the warranty is done? The EVO will be faster then ever.

I actually have no idea what Ford’s warranty is for the FiST. I modded my car before it hit 5k miles, so it’s been a long time since I had to worry about warranties. Haha.

Interesting. It seemed about the same size at the New York Auto Show. I’ll have to check it out again in person.
The husband just gave me permission to trade in his car tomorrow. I wonder if it’ll be any good in the winter...
